«We are pleased to relate to you our conversation with Brett Howard, an eminent Pilates presenter, who is a regular guest to any significant international Pilates event, a wonderful teacher and a charming young man.
Brett, thank you for answering a few questions about Pilates.
- When did you start Pilates? Who are your Mentors? I started practicing Pilates when I was a teenager. I became an apprentice with Romana Kryzanowska in 1997 and started teaching Pilates in 1998. I’ve learned so many valuable things from many people. I’ve also been very fortunate to have studied with and learn from many first generation teachers like Romana Kryzanowska, Lolita San Miguel, Mary Bowen and Jay Grimes.
- Could you share your personal memories about Romana?
Romana was an amazing person. She had such an amazing energy to her. She was a very intuitive teacher. She knew the Pilates work so well and was able to share it with her students effortlessly. She was kind, fun and full of good spirit…»
